Getting Started with Seranote

Seranote is an add-on to your Dermloop account. If it’s not visible in your app, contact your clinic administrator to enable it.

On first use, Seranote will request microphone access. Tap Allow when prompted.

If you accidentally denied permission:

  • iOS: Settings → Dermloop → Microphone → Allow
  • Android: Settings → Apps → Dermloop → Permissions → Microphone → Allow

  1. Open the Dermloop app
  2. Tap Seranote in the bottom navigation
  3. Tap New Session
  4. Ensure the microphone icon is active (red = recording)

Place your phone face-up on your desk during the consultation. The microphone works best within 1 metre of both speakers.

Step 4: Conduct your consultation normally

Section titled “Step 4: Conduct your consultation normally”

Speak naturally. Seranote handles:

  • Medical terminology (including Danish and German clinical terms)
  • Interruptions and pauses
  • Multiple speakers (it distinguishes clinician from patient)

When the consultation ends, tap Stop.

Seranote processes the audio (10–30 seconds) and presents:

  1. SOAP note — Subjective / Objective / Assessment / Plan
  2. Referral draft — pre-filled referral letter
  3. Patient summary — plain-language summary for patient records

Review each section. Tap any paragraph to edit it.

Once you’re satisfied with the note:

  • Save to Dermloop: Attaches the note to an existing or new case
  • Copy to clipboard: Paste into your EMR
  • Export to PDF: Download a formatted PDF

  • Speak clearly when giving the assessment and plan — this is the most clinically important part
  • Avoid cross-talk where possible
  • If a medical term is transcribed incorrectly, edit it and tap Improve — this trains the model over time
  • Review every note before saving — AI is assistive, not infallible

  • Best Practices: Learn how to optimize your environment and speaking style.
  • Features: Explore advanced capabilities like custom templates.
  • Troubleshooting: Solve microphone or network issues.
