Getting Started with Seranote
Step 1: Enable Seranote
Section titled “Step 1: Enable Seranote”Seranote is an add-on to your Dermloop account. If it’s not visible in your app, contact your clinic administrator to enable it.
Step 2: Grant microphone permission
Section titled “Step 2: Grant microphone permission”On first use, Seranote will request microphone access. Tap Allow when prompted.
If you accidentally denied permission:
- iOS: Settings → Dermloop → Microphone → Allow
- Android: Settings → Apps → Dermloop → Permissions → Microphone → Allow
Step 3: Start a dictation session
Section titled “Step 3: Start a dictation session”- Open the Dermloop app
- Tap Seranote in the bottom navigation
- Tap New Session
- Ensure the microphone icon is active (red = recording)
Place your phone face-up on your desk during the consultation. The microphone works best within 1 metre of both speakers.
Step 4: Conduct your consultation normally
Section titled “Step 4: Conduct your consultation normally”Speak naturally. Seranote handles:
- Medical terminology (including Danish and German clinical terms)
- Interruptions and pauses
- Multiple speakers (it distinguishes clinician from patient)
Step 5: Stop and review
Section titled “Step 5: Stop and review”When the consultation ends, tap Stop.
Seranote processes the audio (10–30 seconds) and presents:
- SOAP note — Subjective / Objective / Assessment / Plan
- Referral draft — pre-filled referral letter
- Patient summary — plain-language summary for patient records
Review each section. Tap any paragraph to edit it.
Step 6: Save or export
Section titled “Step 6: Save or export”Once you’re satisfied with the note:
- Save to Dermloop: Attaches the note to an existing or new case
- Copy to clipboard: Paste into your EMR
- Export to PDF: Download a formatted PDF
Tips for better results
Section titled “Tips for better results”- Speak clearly when giving the assessment and plan — this is the most clinically important part
- Avoid cross-talk where possible
- If a medical term is transcribed incorrectly, edit it and tap Improve — this trains the model over time
- Review every note before saving — AI is assistive, not infallible
