Seranote Features
Seranote is designed to streamline clinical documentation for General Practitioners. Here is a detailed look at its key features.
Core Capabilities
Section titled “Core Capabilities”Automatic SOAP Note Generation
Section titled “Automatic SOAP Note Generation”Seranote listens to your consultation and automatically structures the output into the standard SOAP format:
- Subjective: The patient’s history, symptoms, and complaints.
- Objective: Your findings from the physical examination.
- Assessment: Your diagnosis or differential diagnoses.
- Plan: Treatment plan, referrals, prescriptions, and follow-up.
This structure is generated in seconds after you stop recording, ready for review.
Medical Dictation
Section titled “Medical Dictation”Beyond full consultations, Seranote works as a traditional medical dictation tool. You can dictate:
- Referral letters
- Specific clinical notes
- Discharge summaries
The AI understands context and will format the text appropriately, distinguishing between a referral letter and a clinical note based on your phrasing.
Real-time Transcription
Section titled “Real-time Transcription”As you speak (or as the patient speaks), Seranote transcribes the audio in real-time. This provides immediate visual feedback that the system is capturing the conversation accurately.
Smart Features
Section titled “Smart Features”Medical Terminology
Section titled “Medical Terminology”The underlying AI model is trained specifically on medical data. It recognizes:
- Complex drug names (brand and generic)
- Latin medical terms and diagnoses
- Standard medical abbreviations
It is optimized for the specific medical context of your selected language (e.g., Danish medical terminology).
Multi-speaker Recognition
Section titled “Multi-speaker Recognition”Seranote distinguishes between the clinician and the patient. In the transcript, these are separated, ensuring that the generated note accurately reflects who said what (e.g., “Patient reports…” vs “Clinician observed…”).
Automatic Pseudonymisation
Section titled “Automatic Pseudonymisation”To protect patient privacy, Seranote automatically detects and redacts sensitive personal identifiers from the audio processing pipeline:
- CPR/Social Security numbers
- Names
- Specific dates of birth (when mentioned in a context that identifies a person)
Voice Commands
Section titled “Voice Commands”You can use voice commands to control the formatting or insert standard text blocks. Examples:
- “New paragraph”
- “Insert normal lung exam template”
- “Delete last sentence”
Workflow Integration
Section titled “Workflow Integration”EHR Copy-Paste
Section titled “EHR Copy-Paste”Seranote is designed to work alongside any Electronic Health Record (EHR) system.
- Review the generated note in Seranote.
- Click ‘Copy’ (or use the keyboard shortcut).
- Paste directly into your EHR’s journal entry field.
Formatting is preserved to ensure the note looks professional in your permanent records.
Session History & Search
Section titled “Session History & Search”All your sessions are saved securely (locally or cloud-synced depending on your clinic’s configuration). You can:
- Search past notes by keywords (e.g., “hypertension”, patient name).
- Filter by date range.
- Review original transcripts if you need to clarify a detail from the consultation.
Custom Templates
Section titled “Custom Templates”Create your own templates for recurring consultation types.
- Chronic Disease Reviews: Define a standard structure for diabetes or COPD check-ups.
- Standard Examinations: Create templates for “Normal ENT exam” or “Normal Neuro exam” to insert with a single click or voice command.
